PASIGHAT, Mar 5: To celebrate in a befitting way the 100th anniversary of assassination of British Officers by Matmur Jamoh and his party on the 31st day of March, 1911 and as a token celebration of the Centenary year of the founding of Pasighat as an Administrative Centre, a Seminar, “Origin And Migration Aabang & Cultural Relations Of Adis”, would be convened between Mar 30-31 next at the Doying Gumin College, Pasighat, informed the college Principal Dr. Egul Padung in a written statement.
A meeting was held recently and the Chairman of the meeting Tagang Taki informed that the series of seminar are to be of its own kind; an attempt to reconstruct the history of the Adis shrouded in mysteries with a motto to ‘Honor the Past’. The past legends, customs, traditions, migration routes and genealogy of the Adis bickered around as Intellectual Properties of different Traditional Knowledge Holders, in piecemeal, would be amalgamated concretely for the generations to come.
The roots would be nurtured and past glories would be enlightened. The uniqueness of this seminar would be in that it involves interaction of Traditional Knowledge Holders with common people, student community, academicians, scientists and NGOs workers who are interested in the topics of history and oral literature.
In the meeting, Tagom Jamoh as Organizing Secretary, Nalong Mize as Event Manager and Dr. Egul Padung were selected as Coordinator of the Seminar.
