Hyderabad,27 Sep :The most awaited Fair & Lovely scholarship short listing event of the year took place in the city today. About 45 girls from across AP have attended the selection. The final list of scholarship winners will be declared in November.
It was one of the most memorable experiences for the candidates who went through the interview to avail scholarship to pursue their higher education – graduation, post graduation and doctorate degree. These passionate candidates were interviewed by a group of esteemed panel members. Similar interviews have been scheduled across India representing each zone.
This year Hyderabad panelists comprised of Vice Chancellor Hyderabad University Mr. Seyed Hasnain; Activist, Social Worker and Project Coordinator M V Foundation Mr. R Venkat Reddy; Managing Director Charitable Cooperation USA Ms Neena Rao; Prof. Lakshmi Chandra, Dean – Planning, The English and Foreign Languages University; and Ms. Kamla Jaju.
With 2008, the Fair & Lovely Scholarship enters its sixth year, providing encouragement to the girls from economically underprivileged strata to live up to their dreams. The past has seen eminent personalities like Kiran Bedi, Air Marshal Padmavati Bandhopadyay, Captain Indrani Singh, Kavitha Krishnamurthi, Juhi Babbar, author & writer Sivasankari, Advocate Pinky Anand, Rohini Saiylain all associated with the Fair & Lovely scholarship.
Activist, Social worker and Project Coordinator M V Foundation Mr. R Venkat Reddy said “I am indeed overwhelmed to be a part of this noble initiative by Fair & Lovely Scholarship. The concept which has touched me immensely and it feels good to know that there is someone like Fair & Lovely Scholarship has been taking care of the one of the most neglected issue in the society and giving chance to these women to reach their destiny.”
