A local court has directed police to investigate a complaint filed by a city-based businessman against Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for allegedly making hate speech against a particular community.
Based on the complaint filed by businessman S Venkatesh Goud, the court of the 4th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Hyderabad on Thursday directed the Osmania University Police to investigate the complaint under section 156 (3) of CrPc and file a report before it on 28th January.
Goud had filed a complaint before the court alleging that the Chandrayangutta legislator had given “highly provocative and derogatory” speech against majority community, which was telecast on a local television channel on 8th and 9th December.
The court in its order observed that all the allegations as mentioned in the complaint and reportedly recorded on a CD need to be thoroughly investigated.
