Hon’ble Sh. B. P.Sharma Ji,
Secretary to Government of India
& Chairman, S>F.C. of PGI, Chandigarh,
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,
Subject: – Biomedical Waste and Mockery of Swatch Bharat programme at PGIMER, Chandigarh.
This is with reference to PMO ID No. : PMOPG/D/2015/0156028 dated 10.7.2015 regarding the subject cited above.
With due respect, I regret to submit that there has been no improvement on the part of PGI Administration in handling and disposal of Bio Medical Waste and the Institute has been making mockery of Swatch Bharat besides putting patients, public and staff to high level of risk.
The MTA has taken fresh photographs on 29.7.2015 at the Central Refuse Center of PGI. The Bio Medical Waste can be seen lying on the road in front of Central Refuse Station of PGI situated on road between Nehru Hospital and New OPD, where hundreds of patients, general public and staff commute round the clock daily.
It is further submitted that Hon’ble Prime Minister Office has already desired for action as appropriate. The PGI MTA, therefore, humbly request that a suitable action may be taken at the earliest to save patients, public, staff and above all the environment.
Thanking you in anticipation,
