Ludhiana, 15th July, 2018 : Workshop on PRACTICAL DIAGNOSIS & MANAGEMENT OF ALLERGIES was organised by Fortis Hospital Ludhiana. Event was organised under the supervision of Dr. Rajat Bhatia, Senior Consultant, ENT, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana. ENT doctors from across the region participated. Allergy Clinic was also launched during the event.
Dr (Major) K Nagaraju Prof and Head, Dept. of Allergy & Clinical Immunology, Director. Saveetha Medical College & University, Chennai and Dr Abrol from Chandigarh were the guest-speaker and talked about Important Procedural Tips for Skin Prick Test.

Dr. Bhatia further added that about 20% of people are affected by allergic rhinitis, 30-40% of people are suffering from some types of allergies, 6% of people have at least food allergy, and about 20% have atopic dermatitis at some point in time. 1–18% of people are suffering with asthma. Anaphylaxis occurs in between 0.05–2% of people. Rates of many allergic diseases appear to be increasing.
The event was followed by live allergy testing by doing Skin Prick Test (SPT) on patients and was attended by eminent ENT Surgeons, Physicians, Pediatricians and Dermatologists from Ludhiana. SPT was done on 5 to 6 patients who were counseled regards prevention of allergy and immunotherapy.
