Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has appealed to people to help keep Madhya Pradesh free of polio by increasing awareness towards it. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has written a letter in this connection to all the panchs, sarpanchs, representatives of urban bodies and other people’s representatives.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said in the letter that Madhya Pradesh has remained free from polio for the last three years. It is heartening that no fresh polio case has come to light in India during the last one year. He congratulated the people linked with this campaign for this historic achievement, especially the families who on their own will came to pulse polio booths and had polio drops administered to their children in every phase of the campaign. Shri Chouhan also congratulated the active team members who cooperated in successful implementation of the campaign in remote areas. Besides, Shri Chouhan has also lauded the active participation of all the people’s representatives as well as voluntary organisations, who turned the campaign into a mass movement for realising the dream of a polio-free India.
Shri Chouhan said that the next two years are very vital for securing polio-eradication certificate from World Health Organisation. Therefore, maximum booth attendance should be achieved on Polio Sunday on February 19. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has urged them to do this extremely sensitive work considering it as their moral responsibility and with a missionary zeal.
