Chandigarh 2nd February, The Executive Body of PGI Employees Union in its meeting held today has once again strongly condemned the unreasonable and uncalled delay in issuing the appointment letters to the members of deceased employees recommended for appointment on compassionate grounds.
The Ex. Body approved the charter of demands and grievances of Group B, C and D employees, which will be submitted to PGI management within a week.
The Union has further decided to serve notice under Section 22 of Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 to protest the appointment / reemployment of Mr. Swarnjit Singh Saini, PPS, who ha been anti non-faculty staff and has highly negative attitude and approach. He has been interfering in policy decisions and day to day work of employees without any responsibility and accountability.
Mr. Swarnjit Singh Saini, PPS has been fully involved in the illegal, corrupt and irregular activities during the tenure of Dr. K. K. Talwar, former Director be it recruitments, promotions, purchase, contract labour, etc.
Though, it is prerogative of the President of PGIMER and DPGI to appoint OSD but the appointment of a highly arrogant, tainted and anti-employee person can not be justified. Mr. Swarnjit Singh Saini, PPS is the most disliked person of PGI.
The Union will not tolerate a person who works against the interest of employees and creates hurdles in their issues. The Union had already conveyed its resolution to the PGI Administration DPGI on 16.1.2012.
The notice under Section 22 of Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 will be served and the proposed actions will be conveyed to PGI management. In the meantime, the employees will present Roses and Farewell Card to Mr. Swarnjit Singh Saini, PPS requesting him to leave PGI, during the notice period, to avoid spoiling the congenial and cordial atmosphere of PGI. The employees will come on roads taking out protest march in the first phase followed by agitation.
