By Ankur Vadhera Chandigarh:Ophthalmic Premier League (OPL) Trophy was awarded to Chandigarh team comprising ofCaptain Prof. Jagat Ram, Prof Arun K Jain and Dr Sushmita Kaushikfrom Advanced Eye Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh during 26th North Zone Ophthalmological Society Annual conference – NZOS EYECON 2012, held at Chandigarh. Four teams were led by their respective captains and each team comprising four leading ophthalmologists from different states from all over India, made presentations with videos of the challenging surgical eye scenarios and their management. In this competition OPL Trophy was awarded to the best team, based on the clinical relevance, educative value and quality teaching. This was decided through voting by a panel of eight prominent ophthalmologists as well as audience poll.
Dr Keiki Mehta, Colaba Eye Centre, Mumbai; was awarded the first prize for best video. Dr Reema Bansal, Assistant Professor, Advanced Eye Centre also won the best poster award. Dr Adit Gupta, resident from the Advanced EyeCentre won the best challenging case award. Very high standard of video presentations depicting clinically relevant difficult situations and their management along with the immense educative and quality teaching value was appreciated by one and all attending the conference.
