In heartening to news to city, Laxmi Kant Tewari, Senior Medical Technologist at Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, has been elected as the President of Indian Association of Radiological Technologists.
Mr.Tewari got 348 votes to defeat his opponent Ramesh Sharma from AIIMS, New Delhi, who could get only 117 votes. Mr.Tewari won by 231 votes.
“Mr. Tewari said our main agenda is to make Allied Health Professional Council. This council will work on creating uniform education standard across India in the paramedical courses. The council will also work towards up gradation of paramedical technologists and bring uniform nomenclature of posts and pay structure.
Sh. Arun Kumar Yadav won the post of Vice-President by defeating Satinderjit Singh with a margin of 38 votes. Sh. Kaulshlendra Kumar won the post Joint Secretary by defeating Sh. Mahesh Bhatt with a margin of 127 votes.
Ashok Parmar elected as senior vice president and Sushil Kumar Battan elected Secretary General. Mr. Mohan Lal Gupta was declared Finance Secretary. Dr. Gurdeep Kaur was announced as Editor-in-Chief.
The counting of votes for the election was held in conference room of PGI, Chandigarh.
