Global Cancer Concern India(GCCI) a nationwide, ISO certified NGO today organised a cancer screening camp in collaboration with Brahmrishi Mission Saraswati Memorial eye care centre at the CRPF group centre at Himshikha in Pinjore.
Dr Kavita Sant, senior gynaecologist at the Indus Hospital and Dr Budhi Singh, Radiation oncologist attended to the visitors at the camp. Basic screening including pap smear tests for ladies were done free of cost. Patients were advised about follow-ups required, if any. Lt. Gen. Dr Harcharan Singh, MS and DG, AMC, Dr Krishna Rawat, paediatrician and Dr Alka Chahal, pathologist, provided general health checkup for the visitors. Vineet Marwaha, Sr General Manager of the organisation said that GCCI had been working on awareness and screening since 1998. “We are also running free Home care services for the terminally ill cancer patients in the tricity since 2004. Patients may reach us for the same on our helpline number 6570707.”
Mr Sarabjit Singh, DIG, CRPF welcomed Global Cancer Concern India and the guest Doctors and encouraged the visitors to avail the benefits of the camp.
A total number of 275 patients benefitted from the camp.
