Chandigarh : The ongoing six days Continuing Medical Education Programme organized by Desh Bhagat Ayurvedic College and Hospital, for the Ayurvedic Medical Officers concluded here. This was sponsored by Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth & Deptt. of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Dr. Zora Singh, Hon’ble Chairma, Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes was the chief guest of valedictory session which was kicked off afternoon. While praising the efforts made by the institute to promote the ayurvedic concepts, Dr. Singh emphasized the significance of such programme in medical sciences. He congratulated the principal and his team to make the programme a successful event.Mrs. Tajinder Kaur, Vice-Chairperson of Desh Bhagat Group, Dr. Loveleen Kaur, Controller of Examination, Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur, were the guests of honour. Mrs. Shalini Gupta, Director General, Desh Bhagat Group also graced the occasion with her benign presence. In his address, Principal of the college Dr. Kulbhushan Vashisht welcomed all the dignitaries and highlighted the aim to organize this programme. He expressed hope that Ayurvedic Medical Officers got a lot to update their knowledge in the field of ayurveda. Earlier, before the commencement of valedictory session, Dr. Reena Pandey, Assistant Professor, Department of Kaumarbhritya from Rishikul Ayurvedic College, Hardwar put light on care of new born during first week of the delivery along with methods of diagnosis and management. On the topic nutrition of child, she highlighted the importance of mother’s milk, proper method of feeding, substitute nutrition in event of non-availability of mother’s milk and observation of growth and development of child. Dr. Mithilesh Verma from Govt. Ayurvedic College, Bareilly explained about Common pediatric disorders. He also put light on day-today care of child,immunization schedule and baala rasayanas for proper growth and development of a child. It is well mentioned that during six days programme, experts of Ayurveda from the different parts of country delivered the lectures on geriatric health and and mother & child healthcare. Ayurvedic Officers and private practitioners from different districts of Punjab, faculty and students attended the programme. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. O.P.
