Chandigarh June 14:- Following the World Health Organization’s theme ‘More blood, more life’ on World Blood Donor’s Day-2011 Chandigarh Administration organized various camps in the city on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. A blood donation camp was organized by the Government Medical Speciality Hospital in association with Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society Chandigarh on the occasion. The camp was inaugurated by Director Health & Family Welfare U.T Chandigarh, Dr. Chander Mohan. Project Director, Chandigarh State Aids Control Society, Dr. Vanita Gupta, was also present at the occasion as a Guest of Honour. The Director Health & Family Welfare congratulated the donors for participating in the noble cause. He invited the youth to come forward and join the blood donation movement initiated by the Administration. Total 80 donors donated blood on this occasion. The donors those have donated more than 20 times at the blood bank GMSH-16 were also honored by the Chief Guest. Another camp was also organized by GMCH-32 at Park Plaza, Sector 17, Chandigarh. About 75 people turned up to donate the blood at this camp.
