Chandigarh, December 6 – Haryana Health Minister Rao Narender Singh today directed the concerned officers to appoint medical officers in Bhagat Phool Singh Women Medical College and Hospital, Khanpur Kalan in district Sonipat without any delay and till their appointment, alternate arrangement should be made so that patients coming to the hospital might to face any difficulty.
Rao Narender Singh was reviewing the progress of developmental works being undertaken in Bhagat Phool Singh Women Medical College and Hospital, Khanpur Kalan in a meeting here today.
The Minister said that process was on for development of second phase of medical college, which would soon be taken up. He said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda wanted to develop it as a model medical college. He directed the officers to give special attention towards availability of surgical equipments and basic needs in the medical college so that patients did not face any difficulty.
Director of Medical College, Dr. R.C. Siwach apprised the Minister that number of patients in Out Patient Department (OPD) was increasing. He said that sanction strength of staff in medical college included 150 doctors, 147 nurses and 75 members of other paramedical staff. Shortage of doctors was being felt in view of increasing number of patients in the OPDs, he added.
Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Health Mrs. Navraj Sandhu, Director General Health Services Dr. Narvir Singh and other officers of Health Department were also present in the meeting.
