The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed to initiate steps to strengthen the Ayush Department, open new Ayurvedic Hospitals and to post Ayurvedic doctors in rural areas. He said that regular review of Ayush Department would be done. Shri Chouhan was reviewing the activities of Ayush Department at the Mantralaya here today.
The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed to finalize a transparent procedure for the recruitment of Ayurvedic doctors. He said that there is a need to consider the option of posting Ayurvedic doctors at primary health centres in rural areas.It was informed at the meeting that as many as 376 Ayush doctors have been appointed on contract basis under the National Rural Health Mission and the process of appointing another 200 doctors is underway.
The Minister of State for Health Shri Mahendra Hardia, Chief Secretary Shri Avani Vaish and senior officers also attended the meeting.
