ARD PGIMER would like to convey and clarify its current stance on NMC Bill 2019.After recent meeting of our delegation with the Hon’ble MoHFW on 7th August, we are glad to inform you that worthy Addl. Sec. Health and Family Welfare Sh. Arun Singhal Ji discussed and explained various nitty gritty of the NMC Bill to our delegation and could remove many apprehensions that have been prevailing amongst our fellow fraternity members over the last few weeks.
We understand that there has been a huge gap between the perception regarding the clauses of the said bill and it’s actual intent. Probably this has been due to communication gaps as well as instigation of fraternity members by certain frivilous elements, for which we had also requested the Hon’ble Minister of Health and Family Welfare to come up with a press conference on urgent basis to remove these misconceptions and elucidate the actual intent of such objected clauses.
We appreciate the efforts put in by the ministry in recent days to pacify the agitating masses and do not want to hinder the delivery of healthcare in our country anymore. We have conveyed the message to other bodies involved in these agitations about our recent interactions and understanding with the ministry and have urged them to research and follow the facts. Many have reverted in a positive tone and the fraternity in PGI has also come up with a positive perception regarding the bill.
We have conveyed this to the Institute Administration that we have no plans of resorting to any protest regarding this bill in the coming days. We hope that the regulations framed out of this bill consider our recommendations that have already been communicated to the Ministry in our recent meeting.
