World Oral Health Day is celebrated by Apoorva Pande foundation at Balmiki Temple in Sector-32-C, Chandigarh in collaboration with Abbott Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. By organizing a dental checkup camp.
Dr. Ruchit Uppal, MDS and his team examined the patients & educated them about oral hygiene. A brushing technique with live brushing sessions was conducted for all Residents of Sector-32-C, Chandigarh & Oral health & hygiene tips were given to the Children’s. 220 patients were examined & Toothpaste for remineralization and Mouthwash were distributed to the patients.
Dr. Neeraj Pant, a scientist from Punjab University has educated the residents about importance of Swach Bharat Abhiyan & requested the residents to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene in their locality. Dr. Aditi a scientist from Punjab University discussed the importance of good mental health for female in their life.
Laxmikant Tewari, informed that Apoorva Pande Foundation is a charitable organization started with an aim to work on health promotion activities and educational programme for healthy living and social evils and deadly diseases like female feticide, Child labor etc. in the best interest of the Indian public. Foundation is organizing Seminars, exhibitions, and Blood Donation camps, providing help to homeless residents of the city, supporting needy students to continue their education.
He further informed that foundation would be organizing more medical camps at Sector-32-C, Chandigarh in future also.
Sh. Shashi Parkash Pandey, a noted social worker& Sh. Mukesh Sharma, a well-known TV actor and director were also present during the celebration of World Oral Health Day.
Sh. Deepak Sharma, President of Resident welfare association, Sector-32-C, Chandigarh addressed the residents and told them to follow the advise of the Doctor to keep their teeth healthy. He conveyed his thanks to Sh. Laxmikant Tewari, Chairman of the Apoorva Pande Foundation for organizing Dental Health Checkup camp at their locality.
World Oral Health Day (WOHD) is celebrated every year on 20 March. It is an international day to celebrate the benefits of a healthy mouth and to promote worldwide awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene to looking after everyone old and young.
90% of the world’s population suffer’s from oral diseases in their lifetime and many of them can be avoided with increased governmental, health association and society support and funding for prevention, detection and treatment programmes.
In addition, World Oral Health Day offers the dental and oral health community a platform to take action and help reduce the overall disease burden.
It is a day for people to have fun – that should be a day full of activities that make us laugh, sing and smile!
WOHD 2016 aims to get everyone to recognize the impact their oral health has on overall physical health and wellbeing to help inspire this change. Laxmikant Tewari, conveyed his thanks to Dr. Ruchit Uppal, and his team for sparing their valuable time for the noble cause.
