The Supreme Court has issued notice to Central government and others on petition demanding removal of Madhya Pradesh Governor in Vyapam scam. The apex court transferred case probe to CBI.
The Apex Court admitted pleas of Congress leader Digvijay Singh and three whistle blowers seeking an apex court-monitored CBI probe into Vyapam scam.
A bench headed by chief justice HL Dattu had agreed to give an urgent hearing over the scam and had posted all petitions to be heard today.
A petition seeking removal of Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav on the ground of his alleged involvement in the massive admission and recruitment scam in the state also come up for hearing in the supreme Court.
Earlier The Madhya Pradesh High Court yesterday deferred hearing of state government’s plea for handing over Vyapam scam probe to CBI till 20th of this month.
Jabalpur bench of the High Court cited pendency of PILs relating to Vyapam scandal in Supreme Court to defer the hearing.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday said his government will urge the Supreme Court also to hand over the probe of Vyapam scam to CBI.
