Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is starting his 72-hour fast for Sadbhavna Mission in Ahmedabad from Saturday morning, a number of national leaders and converging at the venue.
Those who are arriving on the first day include former Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Premkumar Dhummal, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, Karnatak’s Minister S.A. Ramdas, BJP National Vice-Presidents Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Kalraj Mishra, General Secretaries Vijay Goel, Ramlalji, Ravi Shankar Praad and Rajiv Pratap Rudi, Mahila Morcha President and MP Smriti Irani, Joint Organising Secretary V. Satish, Secretary Kirit Somaiyya, MPs Anurag Thakur and Sumitra Mahajan.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha has sent his greetings for the success of the mission, while her Cabinet colleague Dr. Mantriyan and AIDMK MP Thambidurai will be present on the occasion.
The sants and mahants from different parts of the state arriving here tomorrow to bless include Dilipdasji of Ahmedabad’s Jagannath Mandir, Bharti Bapu of Sarkhej, Mangalanandji of Gita Mandir, Mohandas Maharaj of Thaltej, Kaushalyendra Maharaj of Kalupur Swaminarayan Mandir, Purushottam Priyadas of Maninagar Swaminarayan, besides heads of Maharshi Mahesh Yogi Sanasthan, Motera, Kubernagar Brahmakumaris among a host of others.
Reports reaching here from different corners of the country extend support to the Chief Minister’s Sadbhavna Mission and informed about their decision to hold prayer meetings. They include 300 children and women of Swami Vivekanand Centre at Kanya Kumari, devotees of Shrinathji Mandir in Rajasthan and Maharashtra Muslim Manch’s workers led by Javed Ahmed Khan and Haji Iftatkar Hussain. Swayamsevaks of the Parivar of Allahabad will perform yajna at the Sangam for long and healthy life of Mr. Narendra Modi.
Bapa Sitaram Turst of Bagdana will distribute Prasad to the public. Some voluntary organizations will distribute butter milk. Fifty youth from Vadodara pray at the historic Hanumanji Temple at Hirni and foot march to join the Sadbhavna Mission. Medical camps will be held in all the 38 wards in the Surat Municipal Corporation to mark Mr. Narendra Modi’s birthday tomorrow.
