10th April, Shri Narendra Modi addressed a large crowd of supporters at Darjeeling in West Bengal. He spoke of how the time for ‘Asli Parivartan’ (real change) had come, and urged the people to support the BJP for India’s bright future. Shri Modi stated of the Central government’s penchant for indulging in scams and ruining the Nation, and appealed to the people to wipe out their presence in 2014 Elections.
Shri Modi spoke of how the 2014 Elections would witness the people punishing those who have ruined the Nation. He stated how the Nation was yearning for a strong and stable government, whose primary focus would be people’s welfare. “The sight here shows real Parivartan is coming. We have seen the Nakli Parivartan now is time for Asli Parivartan. The Nation needs a strong government. You gave 60 years to Congress please give us 60 months,” said Shri Modi.
The Central and the Bengal state government’s penchant for doing scams was stated by Shri Modi when he spoke of the chit fund cheating scam in the region. “A scam may be big or small, but it shows the mentality of the people who commit these loots. The Chit fund cheating has happened and money of the poor has gone. Bless us so that we can punish those who cheated the poor,” said Shri Modi. He further spoke of how the Left government too had, after getting entangled in votebank politics, miserably failed to work for the State’s progress.
Retaliating to Congress President’s comments on the BJP having chosen magicians as their candidates, Shri Modi said that the Nation was not worried about magicians but was scared of UPA’s ‘Black magic’ that had ripped the Nation off employment opportunities for youth and growth prospects for its people
Shri Modi also spoke of the Gurkha community which had been fighting for its rights since years, but was never adhered to by the Central government. He affirmed that with the BJP’s focus on ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, every section of the society would witness development, irrespective of the cast or class they belonged to. He affirmed of his vision to develop a separate development plan for the states in the Himalayan range, and assured that under the BJP government this would be ensured. Stating the significance of 2Ts for the region’s progress, Shri Modi spoke of how giving a boost to Tea cultivation and Tourism will take the state forward on the growth chart.
