Sunday was very special for these people in the National Capital region when a decade long Dream of having an Expressway came true. And what made it even more special is the fact that Prime minister Modi was in their midst, celebrating with them.
As Prime Minster’s cavalcade drove past along the Delhi-Meerut expressway People showered love and adulation on the him and the Prime Minister reciprocated in equal measure.
So what makes the Delhi Meerut Expressway a dream come true? The 9 km long 1st Phase of Delhi Meerut Expressway has been constructed in record time. Just 18 Months to be exact. Well before the time decided of 30 months.
The cost of this phase of the Expressway is 842 Crore Rupees. It spans from Nizamuddin bridge to UP Border. There are total 4 phases covering 90 kms in all. The remaining three phases are likely to be completed by next year.
After Inaugurating Phase 1 of Delhi-Meerut Expressway Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the Rs. 11,000 Crore Eastern Peripheral Expresway to the nation. This is India’s First Smart and Green Expressway. It will boost Speed and connectivity. This 135 km Long Expressway is the First in the country to use Solar panels to light the Expressway. It is also the first 14 lane expressway in India.
The expressway has been completed in a record time of about 500 days against the scheduled target of 910 days. Now you can reach from Kundli to Palwal within 72 minutes which earlier used to take more than 4 hours.
