Chandigarh,Umesh Sajjan Baurai , 13 Sep :CNP+ and INP+ conducted its rally successfully with the aim of attracting attention of administration and common masses towards the issue of HIV positive people. Two hundred positive people carrying banners and displaying cards vigorously expressed their opinion on the issues of HIV infected/affected children and care and support.
Mr. Abram president of INP+ expressed happiness the way media covered it and expressed that rally would create movement on issue of HIV/AIDS bill and on second line treatment. Ms. Jhanvi, secretary of INP+ expressed happiness with the growth of CNP+ and she hope that under the aegis of INP+ and with the support of CNP+ their will be effective formation of Networks in the state of Himanchal Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir and Uttrakhand.
Before the advent of rally, there was a play by students attracting the attention of people towards the issue of stigma and discrimination and its penetration it in society.
Chandigarh network of positive people gave memorandum through this memorandum they call for the government and donor agencies to approve free provision and availability of lifesaving drugs/treatment and diagnostic facilities for people living with HIV/AIDS. To scale up free ART and diagnostic centers in Chandigarh they also call for meaningful involvement of CNP+ members in different committees and forums at all level and requested for consultation for children infected and affected by HIV.
Ms. Pooja Thakur expressed her gratitude towards all the NGOs and government officials for giving unprecedented support towards the rally.
