Chandigarh, Nov. 7- The facility of online payment of electricity bills provided in 18 operation sub-divisions of the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) in districts Gurgaon, Faridabad and Hisar is getting popular among consumers and as a result of this facility, the Nigam has received over Rs. three crore as payment of bills during last about three months.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of DHBVN said that the facility has been made available through DHBVN’s web site www.dhbvn.com to about six lakh consumers of 18 urban operation sub-divisions in Faridabad, Gurgaon and Hisar.
With the introduction of this facility, the electricity consumers in Faridabad, Gurgaon and Hisar need not to go to the offices of the Dakshin Haryna Bijli Vitran Nigam for payment of electricity bills. They can pay their bills at any time without any hassle from home through internet as DHBVN has provided the facility of online payment of electricity bills to the consumers. For making online payment of electricity bill, a consumer will have to go at DHBVN’s website www.dhbvn.com . On clicking on the link ‘online payment’ at the web site it will ask for unique ID code of the consumer ‘K number’ given on the bill of each consumer. On clicking, after putting in the ‘K’ number, detail of the consumer’s account will be displayed. The consumer shall login and choose the service number and mode of payment like the credit card, debit card, internet banking to pay for the outstanding dues, if any. Then, by marking on respective bank, they are to click submit.
Depending upon the choice of the bank, the website redirects them to the concerned bank website for completing the transaction (debiting from the consumers’ account and crediting into the DHBVN’s account). However, the bank’s site will ask for user ID and password. On logging in amount to be paid will appear. The consumer can press the button ‘pay’. A message will appear that ‘hot payment is successful’. Online receipt will be generated and print of the receipt can also be taken. The debit cards available for online payment of electricity bills are BOI ATM-cum-Debit Card and the credit cards available for this purpose are Diner Club International, Master Card and Visa.
The Payment can be made through internet banking, credit card and debit card on 27 banks viz Axis Bank, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, deutsche Bank, Development Credit Bank, Dhan Lakshmi Bank, Federal Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Indus Bank, Karnataka Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, Lakshmi Vilas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank Corporate, Punjab National Bank Retail, Shamrao Vithal Co-op Bank Ltd., South Indian Bank Ltd. State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of India, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank, Vijaya Bank and YES Bank.
