Mar 26 :Two major political developments today gave a jolt to the ruling UPA Alliance in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls.The PMK snapped ties with its ally DMK in Tamil Nadu and the RJD and LJP decided to contest 120 Lok Sbha seats with Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
In a related development, RJD and LJP decided to join hands with Samajwadi Party to form what it termed a secular alliance.AIR Correspondent reports that this move is aimed to bring pressure on the Congress for seat adjustments as it has no ally in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Meanwhile, the third alternative mooted by the left parties is also facing problems. While the left front is sharply divided in Kerala, over its truck with controversial PDP, led by Abdul Nassar Madhani. The JD(S) is also facing problems in the state with the CPI(M) led LDF over set adjustments.
