The month-long Festive Season begins on Tuesday with Navratra, the Nine-Day long worship of Goddess Durga, culminating in Dussehra and leading to Diwali.
The nine-day festival commences from 13 October and will end on 22 October. Devotees thronged to temples to worship Goddess Durga.
Navratri is one of the most auspicious festival that is celebrated in the honor of nine different forms of Goddess Durga.
The devotees observe fasting and the Goddess of Power is worshipped in order to seek her blessings, peace and prosperity. On Navratri, each Goddess of Navadurga is worshipped and puja begins with Shailputri Maa and ends with Siddhidhatri Mata.
It is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The festival is celebrated with the Durga Puja, Garba Raas, Dandiya and many other customs.
