23 Jan : Nation is observing 113th birth day of the legendary freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on Saturday even a series of functions are being organised through out the country to mark the day.In West Bengal, several programmes have been organised throughout the state to mark the day.
The Main Program will be hailed at the place of Netaji’s Statue near Raj Bhawan where the state Chief Minister Budhadev Bhattacharya and his cabinet colleagues will be present.
People from all walks of life are visiting the ancestral house of Netaji in South Kolkata since early morning to pay homage to the great hero of the freedom movement.In Orrisa, Public meetings, blood donation and campus lecture have been organised at different places to mark the occasion.
In Delhi, school children and activists remembered Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and took a pledge to fight terrorism on the eve of his 113th birth anniversary.
Leading a march at Subhash Chandra Bose Park in the city was Anti-Terrorist Front chairman M S Bitta who said the birth anniversary of Netaji “provides us an opportunity to remember our great freedom fighters”.
“Let’s take a pledge to fight terrorism, including political terrorism on this day” he told the children.Netaji’s slogans — “Give me blood and I will give you freedom” and ‘Jai Hind’ — reverberated in the air.
Bose was born on 23rd January1897 in Cuttack, Orissa.
