Nation pays tribute to the veteran freedom fighter and first Home Minister of Independent India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on his137th birth anniversary.
Born on 31st October, 1875 in Gujarat, is also known as the Iron Man Of India. He followed the path of righteousness from his childhood only.
During his preliminary education, he launched a campaign against his own teacher who used to compel the students to purchase stationery from his own commercial outlet.
In the year 1908, he became a barrister. The time when Mahatama Gandhi decided to commence the Quit India Movement with full force, Patel elucidated the framework of the movement to a gathering of around 1 lakh people in Ahmedabad.
Sardar Patel was appointed as the Home Minister in september, 1946 when Jawahar Lal Nehru formed a temporary government.
Sardar patel was an excellent craftsman who played an unparalleled role in the country’s struggle for independence and guided its integration into a united, independent nation. This is a reason he is known as the Iron Man of the country.
His first and biggest contribution in the freedom struggle was seen in the Khera struggle where he compelled the British Government to give tax relief to the farmers who were facing the situation of drought.
Sardar Patel was a courageous, disciplined and hard working. He opposed the differences on the basis of catse, creed, color and religion.
He was a firm believer of nation’s unity and was an intelligent politician. He had a love for his nation which made him to confront all sort of problems to gain independence.
He holds a very important place in the the history of Indian Freedom fighters.
Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was awarded Bharat Ratna in the year 1999. He expired on 15th december, 1950 at the age of 76. His ideology continues to guide the nation.
