S. P. Pandey, Chandigarh, 28th February, 2009 ;Former BJP leader KN Govindacharyaer shared his views about the ideology and the scientific style of working to achieve the socio-economic goal and said the increasing GDP growth did not automatically mean more welfare for the people. He had severed ties with the party during the Vajpayee regime following his remarks calling Vajpayee a "mask" and Advani the "real face" of the BJP. Govindacharya, a patron of RSS Swadeshi movement, went on study leave after leaving the BJP.
Govindacharya said that last time, the BJP and the Congress together secured 282 seats while this time they could get 252 seats among themselves. The only point is that the new government should not be pro-rich and anti-people and stressed that changes in the electoral process should be made for the upcoming l election like boothwise counting of votes should be stopped and amendment should be made in the electronic voting procedure. The last button on the electronic machine should be having provision for “none of the above”. The booth wise counting pressurised the local people from exercising their franchise right in true manner and spirits, he added.
Supporting Narendra Modi Gujarat Chief Minister as prime ministerial candidate, Govindacharya said announcement of LK Advani’s name a day prior to the results in Gujarat might be good for the party only. Govindacharya added that it is time for the nationalist forces to take initiatives. The two major conglomerates in Indian politics have become pro-rich, pro-minority and pro-foreign. I will announce the formation of a political front on the occasion on Sakranti.
