Chandigarh : Mukul Kanitkar, National Organizing Secretary, Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal delivered a lecture on the topic “Research for Resurgence at 53rd Panjab University Colloquium at Dr. S. S Bhatnagar UICET, Auditorium of Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Mukul has written more than 2150 articles in Hindi, English, and Marathi and authored many books in Hindi (Pariksha De HansteHanste, Bharat JagoVishwaJagao, Bharat KaJeevanDhyeya, GadheJeevanApna, SangathanGadheChalo, Parivar Bane Pathshala, Samarth Bharat SamagraShiksha, and Shodhkarta-Karyakarta), English (Essential Vivekananda Management’s New Frontiers: Bharatiya Scriptures Applied (ed. volume), and Let’s Build Organization), and Marathi (ParikshaDeuyaHasatKhelat). He has also been a pioneer of Mass Suryanamaskar programmes and this programme has now been conducted for more than 10 million students in Madhya Pradesh, every year in the month of January, since 2007.
Mukul Kanitkar appreciated the Panjab University Anthem and called it one of the most simplistic anthems to understand, out of the many university anthem, he had heard in his lifetime which emphasized the Shanti Mantra from The Brhadaranayaka Upanishad Tamaso ma Jyotir Gamaya” that means “From darkness, lead me to light. The quote as interpreted by him meant that it is the inner will of a man that results in bigger revolutions. He signified the importance of words in one’s life and told that words play a powerful role towards how one leads life.
He encouraged the use of positive words and phrases in daily life to seek contentment and happiness in life. His lecture focussed on explaining the essential link between knowledge and research and mentioned that research is the essence of life and all of us should not only center our lives towards what society has given us but should realize the fact that we as humans are blessed with infinite options towards how we react to the society and should strike a goal that it is our essential duty to also contribute to our nature and society. Finally, he encouraged each one present in the lecture hall to find that unique seed of talent hidden within each of us and work very hard in finding who we really are and what is the purpose of our lives to bring out newer innovations and enhance our and society’s quality of life.
Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh presided over the occassion.In his address, he thanked the Guest Speaker Sh. Mukul Kanitkar Ji,National Organizing Secretary, BharatiyaShikshan Mandal for taking out time from his busy schedule to grace the University with his solicit presence and agreeing to enlighten the audience with his vast knowledge on life and the role of research in fulfilling its quintessence.
Prof. Promila Pathak, Coordinator PU Colloquium Series briefly spoke about the eminent speaker. She introduced him and mentioned his achievements stating that he has organized five International Conferences and deliveredmore than 8000 Lectures. He has also been visiting faculty at Management Department, Maharaja Sayajirao University Baroda, IIT Mumbai, IIT Roorkieetc.; and has also been conducting courses on Gita and Management and Sustainable Finance.
University Faculty, students, Local Colleges, and neighboring institutes attended the lecture.The event ended successfully by a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Shruti Bedi, a member Colloquium Committee.
