As members of ‘Team Anna’ are preparing to begin their indefinite fast to pressurise the government on the Lokpal Bill issue, the government said that the matter was no longer in the domain of the Government, rather it is under the purview of the Parliament.
Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal on Sunday said that display of belligerence would amount to an ‘affront’ of Parliament and his move is undemocratic and unacceptable. He said there is no right to protest at place of your choice and convenience.
Objecting to Anna Hazare’s language used in a letter written to the Prime Minister, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said that the language of the letter is in no way close to Gandhian principles.Congress also slammed Hazare telling him to clarify the “serious findings” of Justice PB Sawant Commission against him and his trusts. Claiming that the “moral core” of Hazare has been “ripped apart” by Sawant Commission, Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari said Anna’s fast from 16th August has nothing to do with either the issue of corruption or the Lokpal bill.
Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh alleged that the members of team Anna have been getting funds form dubious sources.
However, BJP said that denying permission to Anna Hazare for protest is against the fundamental rights of the citizens.
Meanwhile, Anna Hazare said allegations of corruption against him are baseless.
Happy Independence Day – Jai HIND, Corrupt Congres – QUIT INDIA, Jai ANNA HAZARE – Jai JANLOKPAL. Support ANNA – Save INDIA.
