Chandigarh, November 19 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that ‘Gau Abhyaranya’ (Cow Sanctuaries) would be set up on 50 acres in each district to provide shelter to stray cows.
The Chief Minister was speaking as chief guest in a Gopasthami Samaroh in Jundla, district Karnal today.
The Chief Minister said that the way we serve our mother, we should also serve the cow in similar manner. He said that apart from the Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Bill, our society should also come forward for protection of cows. The Chief Minister made it clear that Haryana would not send cows to those states where there is no strict law for protection of cows.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced to give Rs 11 lakh to the Gaushala out of his discretionary funds. Also, he inaugurated Gau Sewa Sadan in the Gaushala premises and planted saplings of neem, banyan and peepal.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. Bakhshish Singh Virk and Mahamandaleshwar Shri Gyananandji Maharaj also spoke on this occasion.
Later, the Chief Minister also attended the annual function of S.B.S School in Karnal.
