Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Government has taken significant steps to check corruption and the menace of black money in a short span of time. He was speaking at the inauguration of the 6th Global Focal Point Conference on Asset Recovery and 21st Conference of CBI and State ACB and vigilance Bureaus in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister said that the Government’s mission is to build a prosperous India and to achieve this objective, it is essential to fight relentlessly against corruption.
On this occasion, Prime Minister said that government’s recent initiatives have brought transparency in the system and restored people’s faith in government.
Speaking on the occasion, CBI director Anil Sinha said that CBI has been cooperating with interpol in combating transnational threat for last 49 years.
The conference was also addressed by the the Interpol Secretary General, Jurgen Stock who emphasised upon the need for collective response from law enforcement agencies to check corruption.
Over 100 delegates from 50 countries are participating in the conference. The Prime Minister also presented the President’s police medals for distinguished service to CBI officers.
