In Punjab, four terrorists have been killed in retaliation when around 4-5 terrorists opened fire on Air force Station in Pathankot early Saturday.
The incident took place at 3:30 AM. The number of militants is said to be 4 to 5 who stormed the base in Indian army fatigues.
They had abducted a police vehicle on Friday night. The vehicle was found abandoned about 10 km away from the attack site.
National Security Guard (NSG) commandos are taking on the terrorists. Patrolling has been increased at Jammu Pathankot highway.
Meanwhile, red alert has been issued in Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.
Top officials have convened an emergency meeting at the Air Force headquarters in Delhi to take stock of the situation. The situation is being monitored at high levels.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened in Punjab in the wake of the terrorist attack. DIG, Punjab Border, has said that helicopters have been dispatched to the area for assistance in operation.
