Chandigarh : Many western futurologists have predicted that India is headed for a major role in world scenario and is likely to shape the future of the world. Speaking about “Forecasts of the future of India” renowned educationist Prof KS Arya, a scientist and former principal of DAV College Chandigarh, said this in his presentation in a Panchnad Study Center programme here.
He quoted dozens of futurologists from Nostradamus to Arthur C Clark with Jean Dixon, Harat, Gerald Crise, Veriske Salvager, Jules Verne, and Anderson who have predicted this for the time period in which we are living. According to Prof Arya they have all suggested that India will overtake today’s big powers and will give a new direction to world.
The discipline of futurology, he said, has evolved in a methodical manner. This is part of university education in many countries and cannot be compared with mumbo-jumbo called astrology. These world renowned futurologists are unanimous that the current phase in India, which is marred by selfishness, unethical trends etc. is likely to pass very soon and a towering personality, a village born person will lead it transformation in the coming decades.
Prof Arya wanted leaders of civil society to inspire Indians and help them regenerate their faith in the capacity of the society to solve its problems. The society needs self-assurance in order to grow and develop.
He also added that today most other civilisations are ailing from affliction of materialism which are making human selfish and self centric and making human enemy of human. Indian way of life can make the world a harmonious and peaceful heaven on earth.
