16 May : The Congress led UPA is ahead of others in the Lok Sabha polls. Of the 446 trends available so far, the Congress has taken a lead in 218 constituencies, the BJP led NDA in 107 and the Third Front which includes Left in 61. The Fourth Front of Samajadwadi Party, RJD, LJP and others are leading in 21 seats, BSP 21 and others in 18 constituencies.
Among the prominent candidates leading include Sonia Gandhi, L. K. Advani, Sharad Pawar, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Rahul Gandhi, Pranab Mukherjee, Rajnath Singh, Jaipal Reddy, A. Raja, P. Chidambaram, H.D. Devegowda, H.D. Kumaraswamy, Mamata Bannerjee, Jyothir Aditya Scindia, Arjun Munda, Veerappa Moily, and Dayanidi Maran. Among those trailing include Ram Vilas Paswan, Renuka Chaudhary, Sishram Ola, Kapil Sibbal, Shatrughan Sinha, Margaret Alwa, Manishankar Aiyar, A. R. Antulay, S.Bangarappa. Lalu Prasad is leading in Patliputra but trailing in Saran.
In Tamil Nadu, the DMK and Congress alliance are leading in 25 and the AIADMK alliance in 14. M.K. Azhagiri son of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi is leading in Madurai. MDMK leader Vaiko is trailing in Virudhanagar.In Puducherry, V. Narayansamy of Congress is leading in the lone seat.
In Karnataka, BJP is leading in 16, Congress 7 and JD(S) four.
In Andhra Pradesh, the Congress and TDP are leading in one seat each.
In Kerala, the Cosngress-led UDF is racing ahead of the CPI(M) – led LDF. UDF is leading in 16 and LDF in four. Union Minister and IUML leader E. Ahmed is leading in Malappuram.
In Andhra Pradesh, Congress is leading in 16, TDP in six and Prajarajya in three and others one.
In West Bengal, the Cognress is leading in four and Left Front in one. Deepa Dasmunshi is leading in Raiganj.
In Orissa, BJD is leading in three and Cosngress in one constsituencies.
In Bihar, JDU is leading in 17, BJP 10, RJD 5, LJP two , Congress four and Left in two.
In Uttar Pradesh, the Congress alliance is leading in seven, BJP in four and Samajwadi in six and BSP in three and others one. In Rai Bareili, UPA Chairperson and Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi is leading while in Rampur SP candidate and cinestar Jayapradha is trailing. In Varanasi, senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi is leading in Mainpuri, Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav has established lead of 1140.
In Rajasthan, Congress is leading in 18, BJP three and others three. Congress leaders Sachin Pilot and Dr. Girija Vyas are leading. Gujjar leader and BJP candidate Kirori Singh Bainsla is trailing. Independent candidate Buta Singh is leading.
In Haryana, the Congress has gained lead in five constituencies. BSP is leading in one.
In Gujarat, BJP is leading in 13 and the Congress in eleven.
In Chhattisgarh, Congress, BJP and BSP and others are leading one constituency each.
In Maharashtra, UPA alliance is ahead in 13 while NDA in 11.
In Madhya Pradesh, NDA is ahead in 14 and the UPA in seven.
In Goa, Congress and BJP are leading in one each.
In Andaman and Nicobar, BJP candidate B.P Ray is leading.
In Tripura, CPIM is ahead in both the constituencies.
In Himachal Pradesh, BJP is ahead in three constituencies of Shimla Mandi and Hamirpur while Congress is leading in Kangra.
In Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal is ahead in three, Congress in one. In Sangrur, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa of Akali Dal is leading. Lok SAbha Deputy Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal of Akali Dal is trailing in Fatehgarh Sahib. Navjot Singh Siddhu amd Vinod Khanna of BJP are leading in Amritsar and Gurdaspur.
In Chandigarh, Pawan Kumar Bansal of the Congress is trailing.
In Delhi, Congress is head in four, BJP in one.
In Orissa, assembly election, the ruling BJD is leading in 9 and BJP in one.
In Andhra Pradesh, the Congress is leading in 16, TDP 6 and Praja Rajyam three and others in one assembly seats.
In Sikkim, the SDF was leading in one seat.
