The CBI has sent documents related to former IPL boss Lalit Modi to Interpol for issuance of a Red Corner Notice against him.
The move comes after a Mumbai Court recently issued a non-bailable warrant against the former IPL Commissioner.
The Enforcement Directorate sought Interpol’s help as legal options available to it at home for serving summons issued under Prevention of Money Laundering Act failed.
The ED had e-mailed the summons to Lalit Modi in London but it got no response. His lawyer in Mumbai also refused to accept the summons on grounds of not being authorized to accept it.
