8 May : Campaigning is picking up for the fifth and final phase of Lok Sabha polls scheduled on next Wednesday as leaders of various political parties are now criss-crossing different States to woo voters.

BJP President, Rajnath singh influenced voters in various towns of Uttar Pradesh.Overall 57 per cent voting was reported in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections for 85 parliamentary constituencies spread across seven states and union territory of Delhi on Thursday.The polling was by and large peaceful except stray incidents of violence at some places.Fate of 1,315 candidates contesting in this phase has been sealed in the EVMs.In West Bengal, 75 per cent voting for 17 Lok Sabha seats was reported.Political future of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee from Jangipur and CPM leader Rup Chand Pal from Hubli have been sealed in the EVMs.

On four Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, 65 per cent voting was registered.The polling, which began on a dull note, picked up later in the day in all the four constituencies of Bathinda, Ferozepur, Patiala and Sangrur.
In Bihar, three remaining Lok Sabha seats went to polls in fourth phase and an estimated 37 per cent voting was recorded.
