BJP will form the Government in Haryana. The party has got clear majority winning 47 seats in the 90 member Assembly.Indian National Lok Dal with 19 seats finished number two.
Congress has been relegated to third position with 15 seats while the Haryana Jan Hit Congress (BL) got 2 seats and Bahujan Samaj Party and Shiromani Akali Dal got one seat each. Independents bagged 5 seats.
The prominent winners are- Chief Minister and Congress candidate Bhupinder Singh Hooda, spokesperson of Congress and candidate from Kaithal Randeep Singh Surjewala.
Indian National Lok Dal candidates Abhay Singh Chautala won for the third time from Ellenabad.
Bhartiya Janta Party senior leader from Ambala cantt Anil Vij, Captain Abhimanyu Singh, and BJP state president Ram Bilas Sharma have won.
Haryana Janhit Congress Chief Kuldeep Bishnoi won from Adampur and his wife Renuka Bishnoi from Hansi constituency.
The main losers are Indian National Lok Dal State President Ashok Arora, Haryana Janhit Congress senior leader and brother of Kuldeep Bishnoi Chander Mohan, Haryana Lokhit Party supremo Gopal Kanda and Union Minister Sushma Swaraj’s sister and BJP candidate Vandana Sharma.
Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda accepted the defeat of Indian National Congress in Haryana Assembly elections and people’s mandate in favour of Bhartiya Janta Party.
Taking responsibility of the defeat of Congress party in the State, he submitted his resignation to the Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki this evening.
Governor urged the outgoing Chief Minister to continue till the new Chief Minister is swear in.
He expressed his gratitude to the people of the State for giving Congress the opportunity to serve them for almost a decade.
Hooda congratulated the Bhartiya Janata Party and extended his full cooperation for development of the State.
Indian National Lok Dal INDL said that BJP victory in Haryana is not the party victory but its Modi wave which helped them to get this kind mandate.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi party leader Dushyant Chutala said INDL will play a constructive role of opposition.
He expressed hope that Modi will fulfill all the promises made during the election campaign.
