Chandigarh, January 6 : BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh today slammed AAP chief and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his associate leaders for making baseless allegations against Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. He said that the AAP leaders were now looking for a cover after an initiation of a criminal case regarding defamation against Kejriwal and others.
Terming AAP as a party of corrupt, land-grabbers, fake documents and certificate holders and those involved in cases of molestation and abuse of women, Chugh said that Kejriwal, who started his political carrier as a fight against corruption was now defending his corrupt ministers and other leaders. He said that there has been a sea change in the ideals and policies of AAP proving that the promises were made only to befool people and grab power.
Chugh alleged that it was only to divert attention from the misdeeds of his corrupt ministers and AAP leaders that Kejriwal was hurling all type of allegations on the ministers of Modi government and BJP leaders.
The BJP leader said that Kejriwal, the admitted ‘anarchist’ of Indian polity, after taking Delhiites for a ride, was now trying to establish the base in Punjab by recruiting political turncoats into his party. Chugh said the party which earlier claimed that it won’t accept any deadwood into its fold was now desperate to induct leaders rejected by the people.
Chugh alleged that AAP was acting like the ‘B’ team of Congress in the state and Kejriwal was accepting each and every leader from any party just to fulfill his lust of power.
He expressed hope that the politically mature people of Punjab will neither accept the opportunist Capt Amarinder Singh-led Congress nor the inexperienced and power-hungry AAP in the 2017 elections but repose their faith on the time-tested alliance of Shiromani Akali Dal and the BJP.
