In a big morale booster for BJP in poll-bound Bihar, 4 rebel MLAs from ruling JDU join BJP along with their supporters; Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy says these leaders have rebelled because they don’t want return of ‘jungle raj’ in Bihar.
In Bihar, four JDU dissident MLAs along with their supporters on Wednesday joined BJP.
Gyanendra Singh Gyanu, Dinesh Kushwah, Suresh Chanchal and Rajeswar Raj have taken membership of the party at Patna in the presence of State BJP President Mangal Pandey. On the other hand, former Minister and JDU MLA Gautam Singh has announced that he will join Upendra Kushwah led Rashtriya Lok Samta Party.
5 days ago, JD(U)’s Rajiv Ranjan had joined the BJP along with his supporters.The Islampur MLA was considered to be close to Nitish Kumar at one time.The 4 JD(U) rebels also used to swear by Nitish Kumar’s leadership but relations started going downhill about a year ago till it became a slanging match.Gyanu’s membership of Bihar assembly was put under suspension after JD(U) acted against him but it was restored through a court battle.
Tuesday saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveil a bonanza of a special package for Bihar totalling to 1 lakh 65 thousand crore rupees.Though JD(U) and RJD are dubbing it a re-packaging exercise, the BJP has lashed out at the combine dubbing the PM’s move historic.
