Barinder Saluja, Chandigarh,Aug. 29 : LEMACS – Legendary Mukesh Musical Arts & Cultural Society (Regd.) Chandigarh, in collaboration with Gian Sagar Educational Institutes, Banur, remembered the Legendary play back singer of yester years, Mukesh, who reigned the filmdome with his everlasting and melodious voice, to give lots of unforgettable songs to Indian Film Industry. The attraction of the Musical Night was the presence of Anandji v Shah, one of the Music Director Duo, Kalyanji Anandji fame, who was the chief guest of the show and Dr. Sukhwinder Singh, Director, Gian Sagar Educational Institutes, Banur, and T.C. Gupta, Chief Patron, graced the musical night.
It was 27th August 1976, when Mukesh was presenting a show in USA, along with his son Nitin Mukesh and his troupe when unfortunately suffered a Heart attack on the the stage while singing a song as then that song was completed by his son Nitin Mukesh and on 28th August 1976, the Legendary singer breathed his last. So, since then on 28th of August, the whole nation remembers their favorite singer, every year and organises these types of shows in his memory.
The show was started with a song, “Jot se Jot jagate chalo, prem ki ganga bahatey chalo” sung by Deep Kataria, a local amateur singer, as all the songs which were sung by Mukesh are re-sung by the present amateur singers in this show. Some of the other songs sung were, “Chaand Aahein Bharega” from film Phool Bane Angarey sung by Ravi ; song from film Dharmatma, song ” Tune kisse kabhi pyar kiya hai” a duet previously sung by Mukesh & Asha ji, and today sung by Rajinder Singh & Poorvi ; Song from film Saheli, “Jis dil Main Bhara tha Pyar” was sung by Pammi Hanspal ; Venu Gautish & Naresh Sharma sang a song “Mehboob Mere” from film Pathar ke Sanam.
Anandji Bhai, who was along with is better half, stood in silence for 2 minutes in the everlasting memory of Mukesh ji and said that mukeshji was not only a perfect singer but was also a through gentlemen. Kalanji Anandji director duo composed lots of super hit songs for Mukesh ji which are still hymns in the hearts of many people.
