Delhi,July 25 :Three BJP MPs today filed a complaint with the Lok Sabha Secretariat alleging that they were offered bribes for abstaining during Tuesday’s trust vote in Parliament. The written complaint by Mr. Ashok Argal, Mr. Mahavir Bhagora and Mr. Fagan Singh Kulaste followed the Lok Sabha Speaker asking them to file a formal complaint after they displayed currency notes in the house during the debate.
They were asked to present their version officially to enable the Lok Sabha Secretariat to take the case forward. The tapes allegedly relating to bribery charges have already been handed over to the Speaker. Later BJP leader. Mr. Vijay Kumar Malhotra said that they have demanded the CD of the bribery tapes to ensure that it is not tampered with.
In reply to a question on the probe into the matter, the Congress spokesman Mr. Shakeel Ahmed said that they will be satisfied with whatever enquiry the Speaker deems fit. He said if the Speaker permits the telecast of the tapes, the Congress has no objection to it.
The Congress has taken a strong exception to the justification by the BJP of the attack on their MPs who supported the UPA Government on the trust vote. Party spokesman Shakeel Ahmed demanded that the BJP should withdraw their irresponsible remarks in this regard. He said the attacks show that the BJP has no faith in democracy.
The Samajwadi Party has given a written complaint against the three BJP members for breach of privilege.
