2 June :Reacting to the recent attacks on Indian students in Melbourne, Australia, TAAI (Travel Agents Association of India) has widely condemned the incident.The Association is making a representation to the Australian Commission on this issue condemning the incident and urging them to take all possible actions to restore the situation to normalcy.
Mr. Rajinder Rai, President, TAAI, said “Such incidents create a very insecure environment for all concerned and need to be strongly condemned. Whether it is students studying abroad or professionals moving to another country for work or people who want to settle abroad, one gets totally discouraged to pursue their wanting. It is not a very happy situation for the respective country as well as they in turn lose out on several counts be it being seen as an inhospitable country , foreign exchange loses , tourists , talent etc.”
