3 June:Reeling under a series of electoral reverses, the Congress is set to go into introspective mode and will hold a ‘Chintan Shivir’ shortly to draw up a strategy for the coming elections, including the Lok Sabha polls.
The decision to hold the ‘Chintan Shivir’ (brainstorming session) was taken at the Congress Working Committee (CWC) held on Saturday in which the electoral losses, including the recent poll debacle in Karnataka, were discussed in depth.
"We are having the ‘Chintan Shivir’, possibly in June. But the date or place have not yet been decided," AICC Media Department Chairman M Veerappa Moily told reporters in New Delhi on Monday.
He said the ‘Chintan Shivir’ will discuss the lessons learnt from the elections gone by and will focus on preparing a roadmap for the state as well as Lok Sabha polls.
The last time the Congress held a ‘Chintan Shivir’ was in Shimla in 2003 just ahead of the previous Lok Sabha elections.Prior to that the party had held such a brainstorming session in Panchmarhi in 1998.Courtsey : DD NEWS
