25 Dec :In a new initiative to promote consumer movement in the country, the Government has decided to offer the ‘Jago Grahak Jago’ logo to newspapers for use along with their own content on consumer awareness.Newspapers will be allowed to use the popular logo free of cost, subject to their agreeing to carry messages or information that would promote consumer awareness. The permission to use the logo will have to be taken each time the logo is intended to be used.
The Department of Consumer Affairs has, however, made it clear that the content, whether in the form of advertisement or otherwise, would not be regarded as a joint publicity campaign of the newspaper and the Department.
Newspapers / newspaper groups wishing to use the ‘Jago Grahak Jago’ logo can take the necessary permission by approaching the Department of Consumer Affairs.*
