Gwalior:Wednesday, July 30 :The Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has underlined the importance of tree plantation, stating that sapling plantation must be an integral part of our life in order to protect life and environment.
Trees keep us alive emitting oxygen. If there are no trees there would be no life. Referring to the tree plantation campaign being carried out on a massive scale by the state government for the last three years, he said that it has been given the shape of the Hariyali Mahotsava. Shri Chouhan expressed these views while launching a tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling of Neem on the premises of the 2nd Battalion of S.A.F. here today. On this occasion, 51 thousand saplings were planted simultaneously on nearly 50 acres of land in the battalion campus. .The prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Water Resources and Higher Education Minister, Shri Anum Mishra; former minister and state BJP President, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar; Mayor, Shri Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar; Minister of State for Forest and Revenue, Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha besides a large number of school children, jawans and prominent citizens. They too participated in sapling plantation making the occasion lively.
Speaking further the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also laid special emphasis on proper protection and nurturing of the saplings planted during the Hariyali Mahotsava. He said that whosoever plants a sapling, he/she should take a resolve to protect, water and nurture it. Only then the objective of Hariyali Mahotsava could be achieved. Shri Chouhan also thanked the jawans of the battalion and large number of college and school students for their en masse participation in the tree plantation.
Plantation of trees must be protected because they provide us fresh air to breath.
