In order to intensify the campaign “Hara Punjab Khara Samaj” Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes continued to distribute and plant the trees in other villages of Punjab. Committed to make Hara Punjab a movement, Mrs. Tajinder Kaur Vice Chairperson Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes, urged the residents of villages to understand the importance the tress. She highlighted that the trees are our best friends. All our food comes from trees. She informed that because the animals live upon grass and other parts of the trees, therefore even non vegetarian food comes from the trees indirectly. Mrs. Tajinder Kaur elaborated that if there will be no trees there would be no rain and the land will turn into deserts. Without trees mankind would perish for want of food, drinking water and fresh air. Therefore, everyone should plant at least one tree each. Under this campaign, it was pledged to plant 1 lac trees, out of which about 62,000 trees have been planted in different districts of Punjab.Dr. Zora Singh chairman of Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes while distributing the trees to the villagers emphasized that Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes launched the campaign to make Hara Punjab by active involvement of the villagers. Dr. Singh guided the villagers and further endorsed the views that besides food, the trees also provide us the raw materials for our industries, which further provide employment to the people. Dr. Singh also informed that on one side trees provide shade to travellers and animals whereas on the other side trees keep the Environment clean by absorbing harmful carbon –dioxide. Trees are also known as the lungs of nature. During today’s campaign, the villages which were covered for tree distribution and plantation included Jassran, Chtarpura, Kotla, Dadheri, Jalalpur, Baronga and Badali.
