Bhopal:Monday, December 14 : The Madhya Pradesh Eco-tourism Development Board organised a workshop based on eco-tourism for radio jockeys at Delawadi yesterday where they were introduced to practical experience of eco-tourism. The objective of the workshop was to create interest and awareness among the radio jockeys towards eco-tourism and environmental protection. As many as 17 radio jockeys of six radio channels participated in the workshop including four representatives of Bharti, four of 93.5 Red FM, five of 90.4 Radio Popcorn, two of 98.3 Radio Mirchi and two representatives of 94.3 My FM. The radio jockeys were introduced to the eco-tourism possibilities in the state’s national parks, Pachmarhi, Delawadi, Kerwa, Bilkhiriya, Chambal and other tourist destinations. Due to knowledge gained at this workshop, radio jockeys will be able to launch a new wave of broadcast based on eco-tourism.
It may be mentioned that Madhya Pradesh Eco-tourism Development Board is undertaking efforts to publicise development of eco-tourism in Madhya Pradesh through various modes of media. Radio channels give messages to the masses in a very simple but effective way and leave an indelible mark on their memories. The workshop was organised keeping this fact in view.
At the workshop, Board’s managing director Shri Ashish Verma threw light on its objectives. Underling the importance of media in eco-tourism, he gave an introduction of state’s beautiful spots to the radio jockeys.
In the morning, the radio jockeys were helped in watching birds at Delawadi jungle camp by the members of Bhopal Birds institution. They were given tips by Bhopal Birds’ representatives Sushri Sangeeta and Shri Mohammad Khaliq.
Madhya Pradesh Eco-tourism Development Board’s Chief Executive Officer Sushri Gopa Pandey threw light on the outlines of the training programme. She also enlightened the radio jockeys on the Board’s efforts for development of eco-tourism in the state. The strategy for running the programme in future was also discussed at the workshop.
