The grapevine is bound to buzz when you see the female lead of a Rajshri show holding a beedi and grinding tobacco on her palm. Add to that, the pictures of her in an elaborate Rajasthani costume, looking completely out-of-character and tongues are bound to wag about what’s really going on!
The show in question is Zee TV’s Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli and the actress making heads turn with her most unexpected, new avatar is Suhasi Dhami, who plays the usually demure Abha.
The current track has Abha being attacked on her way back from Bhopal … While what really happens to Abha after the attack is not known, one does see her return to their palatial home, the Swarn Bhavan. Viewers will notice that there is something amiss about Abha after her Bhopal visit. Why have her mannerisms changed? Is she really the same Abha or an imposter?
Sources reveal that a language tutor has been visiting the sets regularly and teaching Abha the finer nuances of the Rajasthani dialect, replete with the correct intonation and diction.
When contacted about the startling new look & the diction tutoring, Abha said, “I’m having a blast learning Rajasthani … they’ve even taught me the finer points such as the body language and posturing of a kalbeliya dancer. I’ve never ground tobacco on my palm or held a beedi, so this is clearly a first. But I’m not about to reveal why I’m learning all this stuff … you’ve got to watch the show to figure that one out!”
