Chandigarh : Sushma Sanwal, resident of Sector 44 A Chandigarh, first women student of Nek Chand learnt art work from waste material from her guru (Nek Chand) in 2001. Since then, she has been a passionate artist and has crafted some wonderful art pieces using waste material. Nek Chand has been an inspiration and now on death anniversary of Nek Chand on June 12, she has created an impressive village scene displaying tube well, spinning wheel, curd churning machine and other expressive items surrounded by villagers wearing mask and greenery all around. Through this, she is giving a message to society to wear masks in wake of COVID spreading in rural areas and also, exhibiting the importance of greenery all around.
All this has been fabricated from waste material like pea nuts shells, Ezee bottle, ice cream container, thrown away dolls, formula milk boxes of her grand daughter etc as a tribute to her guru on his death anniversary. Hoping for the society to imbibe the message soon.
