Panaji, 13th July 2011 – After successfully organizing two editions, the Entertainment Society of Goa in collaboration with the Directorate of Education, have conceptualized the third edition of the Spirit of Freedom Film Festival from the 8th till the 11th of August 2011 to evoke a sense of patriotism and create an understanding of the essence of Independence. The Inaugural Ceremony will be held at Ravindra Bhavan (Margao) on 8th August 2011 at 11.00am.
As part of this initiative, Entertainment Society of Goa will screen five internationally acclaimed patriotic Films like Gandhi, Chota Sipahi, Purab Aur Paschim, Roja and 1942: A Love Story at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao and Maquinez Palace, Panjim to over 5000 children of Goa. On this occasion Entertainment Society of Goa is also organizing other entertaining and educational sections for school children like Slogan Contest & Essay Contest, Quiz Contest, Recitation Competition to involve the General Public and generate an understanding of their vision for India.Slogan Contest- “SPIRIT OF FREEDOM”, Freedom has different connotations for different individuals. This initiative seeks to evoke candid responses from the younger generation of Indians about their vision of INDIA which is emerging as a Military, Economic and Political power in the International Scene. Participation Criteria- Secondary and Higher Secondary Students, word limit 30 words only.
Essay Writing Competition- “INDIA OF MY DREAMS”, the dream is the visual representation of your desires. When it comes to our country, every individual has his own expectations. In today’s times, the expectations have also changed due to various factors which have created an impact on the society. Participation Criteria- Higher Secondary Students, word limit 300 words only.
“My India” Quiz Contest, three schools will participate wherein two students from each Higher Secondary School participate each round.
The Theme for the Recitation Competition is based on Patriotism; entries should be as a Poems/ Songs with a length of not more than 30 lines. Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Students may participate.
Cash Prize of Rs. 5000/-, Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 1000/- will be awarded to the winners.
